If you’re new to homeschooling be sure to see my other posts for new homeschoolers:

So let’s say you’re determined to do this, even if just for a semester or for a year. You understand that this is not just doing school at home and you are onboard with starting this new adventure! Let’s say you’ve also taken the quizzes for choosing your homeschool style and you are ready to take the plunge. Where do you go to get your materials?

Traditional Schooling

Back when homeschooling was all bright, shiny and new, many families still felt as if they had to move the school room to the kitchen table. There are many curriculum choices that cater to this style.

Alpha Omega’s Switched on Schoolhouse

Bob Jones University Press – Awesome textbooks at the high school level, but also anti-Catholic especially in history.

Mother of Divine Grace

Robinson Curriculum – this has an interesting back story. A mother developed a K-12 curriculum for all of her children and then she died. The husband put all of her resources on the computer so that the kids could just carry on – and then he put it on a CD to sell, and now it’s online!

Rod and Staff

Seton – also a veteran curriculum for Catholic Homeschoolers. It’s like the Catholic Abeka – very rigorous and structured.
