1. Obviously the biggest change on the blog this week is a move from Blogger to WordPress. I had been on Blogger for over 15 years. It was a good starting place for me and I felt really, really comfortable there.

But nothing lasts forever. With places like Twitter and Facebook selectively editing content, I was wary that Google might decide to do the same thing. And then I read about a blogger whose entire blog was taken down without warning. I just couldn’t bear to have something like that happen with My Domestic Church with all that content. So this weekend I just bit the bullet, figured it out, and made the move.

It’s not perfect. I’m not nearly as comfortable on this format as I was over on Blogger, but I feel more confident that my content is under my own control.

2. Rosie is done with her track season. Last weekend she competed in the semi-finals. Only the top 4 in each division would make it to the finals. She came in 5th in the 1600, but she had a season record. Two years ago her time was 6:39. She ended with a season record of 6:43, which is only 4 seconds from her PR. I think now that her growing is slowing down, her speed will pick back up.

3. She did manage to make it into the 800 by the skin of her teeth. She didn’t medal, but she beat her PR for that event by 1 second and I was really happy with her performance. So now it’s on to high school running. The high school folks have been really great about keeping me updated, so I’m confident that this will be a good fit for us moving forward.

4. Longtime readers might remember that I have been a big fan of Saxon Math for my entire homeschooling career. I have all of the books from kindergarten up through pre-calculous.

But the edition of Kindergarten and first great Saxon math is over 10 years old. I have the teacher’s manuals but buying the consumable workbooks was going to be time consuming and expensive! So since Miss C. is doing so well in Math, I decided to try something else. For $25 I was able to get her Grade One Math from Master’s Books. It’s a beautiful book and I think she and I will both enjoy using it. I’ll keep you posted. 5. Would the end of the school year be complete without a piano recital? Probably not. Here’s Rosie’s.

6. I am playing for my nephew’s wedding and his wife approved this for the prelude. I’m very excited to perform it again!

7. So with this move over to WordPress, it became even more clear to me how important my e-mail list is! If I had broken something on either site, at least I would have been able to contact some of my followers to let them know what is going on. This is one of my most recent newsletters. Won’t you join me?
