Outside My Window

Epiphany door

The Epiphany Blessing on our door for 2019.

I am thinking…

how much I hate for Noah to go back to school today. Although he is a commuter college student, he will be gone 12 hours a day and I will really miss him. He has 3 more semesters to graduation and is still on the Dean’s List.

I am also thinking about how close Miss C. is to reading!!

I am thankful…
that my son Sam’s business had a great first month!

I am pondering…
How busy the next few months will be. I am having a knee MRI this week and hopefully, that will tell me what I have to do to get my knee back all the way so that I can dance on it. Then I have to have a dental procedure the following week. I’ll have a hard time playing my flute for a little bit after that. In between all of that, we are now in the physics part of Physical Science which is not my forte. I’ll be working just about as hard as my students!

One of my Favorite Things…

I love this little book so much. I read it to all of my kids growing up and I can’t find my copy! So I just ordered a new one. It’s just a delightful way to teach your little kids the months of the year.

In the kitchen…
Pea soup with a ham bone tonight!

I am wearing…
Gray Hanes Sweat Pants and a thermal black shirt with my Halloween Sweater

I am going…

  • We are having such a mild winter!  I’ve been able to walk three or four days a week, about 2 miles in under 45 minutes because that’s about all the time I get. Rosie is running about 4 or 5 miles and still getting back to the car before me! I am going to work on weight lifting and ab work as much as possible
  • PrayMoreNovenas.com  the rosary more this month.
  • to cut my carbs via the Wheat Belly Total Health: The Ultimate Grain-Free Health and Weight-Loss Life Plan recommendations and Intermittent Fasting.
  • Working on the “lose the mummy tummy” goal. I’ll be documenting that more in a special e-mail list. If you’d like to follow the ups and downs of that, click here.
  • More flute practice this week.
  • Prepare my labs for Wednesday for my science class.  This week is a very math heavy chapter so most of our class will be focused on that. If you want to see my Youtube Channel or syllabus for Physical Science sign up for my e-mail list.
  • I am finally getting my knee MRI this week!

  1. I'm reading your post on Feb. 1, but I wanted to thank you for reminding me of some very precious memories. My son and daughter had the same kindergarten teacher even though they went through school 5 years apart and that dear woman used Chicken Soup with Rice for every class she taught.
