Outside My Window

My parish is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. They are selling this little ornament as a memento of the event. It’s supposed to be a Christmas ornament, but I like it so much I’m using it as a suncatcher in my kitchen. It pictures the beautiful mosaic iconography of the last supper that is on the ball in our sanctuary.

I am thinking…
that I wish I could link you to the homily our pastor gave today at church. He brings up an excellent point regarding the sex scandal in the church. Many say that if priests were not required to be celibate, this sexual acting out would not have happened. But as one of Father V’s readers pointed out, would you want one of your daughters to marry one of these perpetrators? Really? The truth is, these men (who were mostly homosexual anyway) were not bound to living a celibate lifestyle. They probably wouldn’t have been able to keep their vows in marriage either.

I am thankful…
that CYO canceled the cross country meet today. We are getting the remnants of the hurricane and it is 58 degrees and wet. I am much happier to be indoors.

I am pondering…

how next week will work. Finally, ALL of the school year activities will be in full swing next week including PSR and piano lessons.
