1. This May, my daughters are participating in something online called Mermay.  They are basically drawing a mermaid every day following a certain theme for the day.  Some of their drawings are really kind of sweet!

This one was a little creepy – but imaginative!

2.
We put Rosie’s peg saints to good use. I piled up some books and covered them with some white cloth I had laying around. Then I bought some sparkly mesh at the fabric store and put that on top of the cloth. I put Jesus on top and all of his apostles at the bottom of the stack to symbolize The Ascension.

My older kids thought it was corny, but Miss C. loved it and took Jesus on several trips up to heaven. I think it really got the point across.

It was also a good opportunity for me to bring out my heavenly stars – which I usually don’t do until the Feast of Mary Queen of Heaven in August. I’ll have to decide whether or not to put them away or just leave them out.

3.  I applied for an online teaching job a few weeks ago and I finally heard back that I wasn’t accepted. I was disappointed and went through the usual stages of grief, which took about an afternoon or so. By then I had convinced myself that I didn’t want or need that job anyway.

The very next day my son called to tell me that his restaurant was indeed opening next month, and would I be available to work from 4-8 every day during the summer. I was a little surprised, but thought – why not? I could use a little extra money and it would be a nice way to help my son out and be part of a new business right from the start! So I guess things happen for a reason.

On Friday then, I was checking my e-mail and the company I had applied to wrote back to me to let me know that they had changed their minds and want me to continue on in their hiring process. After my surprise wore off, my first thought was, “Oh no!! I just committed to working 20 hours a week for my son!!”  But my second thought was gratitude and hoping that I could make it to the next level. I was wondering how I could work that out with my other work responsibilities when my son called – his financing fell through and there would not be a restaurant opening next month.

So I guess things happen for a reason!

Just for fun, there is another great resource being offered on Mother’s Day as a free incentive. I’m not allowed to share it until then, so check back then.  My e-mail subscribers will be notified first.

6.   Track Season is winding down!   It has been brutal. The bad weather made practicing difficult and meets were canceled and postponed. Tomorrow is the championship for Rosie and she hasn’t had a chance to PR yet. Fingers crossed that tomorrow will be her day!
