1.
I decided to try something new in my exercise routine this week.
Here’s what I like about this video – you can pick and choose which workout to do depending on your time frame. Each is about 20 minutes long or you can do the entire thing in 50 minutes. She uses some kind of foam roller but honestly, you don’t need it. I didn’t have one and I still got a good work out. I used my workout stick from The FIRM videos, but I think you could use a broomstick or just go without and still work up a pretty good sweat.
What I really liked about it is that I felt like a good workout even without jumping around – and my knee certainly appreciated that!
2. You know how I said I gained 4 pounds getting ready for my concert last month? I honestly think it was because of the Mobic I was taking for my knee. I just happened to read that it was one of the side effects last week, so I quit taking it for two nights and dropped a pound. Coincidence? I don’t know. But I might soon have to make a choice- a little extra weight? or a good night’s sleep?
3. I only have Miss C. one day a week right now because of her parents’ work schedules so I wanted to do something memorable every week.
Yesterday we read the book, How to Make a Cherry Pie and See the USA! Naturally we did some crafts to go with it! So we made this Cherry blossom craft and this one for a cherry tree branch. I discovered that my little granddaughter has infinite patience when she wants to and is very concerned about doing a good job on her crafts.
4. We had cherry cheesecake too!
5. Because I only have her one day a week, and because I’m positive her parents aren’t taking her to mass, I am resolved to take her on the days I get her. Last week we ended up going to the school mass with all of the kids from the day school and she enjoyed watching all of the other children participate in mass. So we went back yesterday and she was thrilled. She was also mesmerized by their May Crowning of Mary. Little did she know that I had planned a May crowning for her to do when we got home!
6. Rosie had a big weekend last week with her art show, piano performance, and play. This week is all about track. She ran a meet on Tuesday and she will run one on Saturday (after soccer!) and then again on Sunday. For Mr. Pete and me, that means a lot of carbs for dinner, and a lot of driving!
7. Have you signed up for the Build Your Own Bundle Homeschool Sale yet? You should even if just to browse. And if you are the type of person who loves planners – you’ll be in heaven because there are lots of them sprinkled throughout the sale. I suppose you could build your own bundle with just planners if you wanted to!
But even if you don’t plan to shop, or don’t want to shop, you can still get the free portfolio planner.
Rosie and I worked on getting her portfolio for this year ready using the free planner!
The list of individual products and bundles is out. I’m sending them to my e-mail subscribers. Sign up below to join the homeschool list and get yours this weekend before the sale starts.
