I am thinking…
Bravewriter is focusing on juicy conversations this month. With track starting up, Rosie and I have been having a lot of juicy conversations – about her physical growth and her running speed, about how much she has enjoyed reading and writing about the saints this year, and about what she wants to be when she grows up. Next year she will be in 8th grade. I know I have only 5 more years with her at home as my student and I want to treasure every one of them. We’re also talking about the play she is in and how much she is enjoying it. She’s my first thespian and this is her second play. It’s certainly new for me.
I am thankful…
For Mr. Pete and our family. He has a milestone birthday this week and it seems impossible to think that when we started dating he was only 17. I’m glad we took a chance with each other.
I should also mention that I’m thankful that he has the skills and the courage to tackle a project like our leaky roof!!
I am pondering…
I haven’t had an episode of scintillating scotomata since last September. Since then I have dropped a little more than five pounds by doing intermittent fasting. I wonder if there is a connection? Last year at this time I went 16 weeks without having an episode. I’ve gone even longer now and I weigh less. I can’t help but wonder if there is a connection.
Incidentally, Netflix has an autopsy that you can actually view. It’s called Obese Autopsy: The Post Mortem. It’s also available on Youtube. It’s fascinating to see the effects of extra fat on the body, particularly the lungs, liver, and kidneys.
One of my Favorite Things…
I am hearing…
In the kitchen…
I am wearing…
Gray sweat pants, purple long-sleeved workout shirt, and a gray hoodie. I wear the knee sleeve as needed.
I am going…
- Upper body workouts and core and adding more aerobics with a little step and some actual walking. . My knee seems sore medially. I keep icing it and taking my Mobic prescription from Walgreens. I’m trying to lessen my trips up and down stairs as much as possible too.
- add some additional novenas next year with the help of PrayMoreNovenas.com
- to cut my carbs via the Wheat Belly Total Health: The Ultimate Grain-Free Health and Weight-Loss Life Plan recommendations and Intermittent Fasting.
- Preparing my general science lesson for Wednesday. This week I have an experiment that explains how the kidneys work. Then we are off for two weeks!
- Keep practicing my recital pieces – here’s a practice sample.
From the Learning Rooms…
My Granddaughter is in the Five-in-a- Row curriculum at Co-op and we try to follow through on the days she is with me.
This week in Five-in-a-Row they will be reading
Maryrose:
Rosie is also taking a writing class online using the Once Upon a Time Saint series as the writing
prompt.
We have a schedule! Rosie writes her history paper every Monday based on what she has read in her history the week before. Also on Monday, she reads her assignment in Once Upon a Saint. Then on Tuesday she writes her assignment for that class and turns in her paper. Thursday is for revisions. She has another week to work on her St. Patrick theme though.
This semester she is also going to do drama so we will start reading
Using Bravewriter Boomerang Digital Download to study this book!
A tweet to share…
I’d be more impressed with a “walk in” to school on a Saturday than a walkout on a school day. It’d be like me protesting something by drinking a beer. Convenient.
