Outside my window…
This is one of the streets my dog and I walk down on her daily walk. She has become quite insistent about taking these walks now! It used to be that my son, Noah, walked her every day but he doesn’t anymore because he is always in a hurry to get to school. The girls don’t like to walk her and my dog doesn’t like Mr. Pete – so it falls to me! I don’t mind too much. We have a little route and she enjoys it.

I am thinking…
about the whirlwind weekend we just went through!
- Friday night was Noah’s choir concert at Walsh.
- Saturday night Mr. Pete, Rosie and I all had a performance for the Fa La Lollies at church.
- Sunday afternoon Mr. Pete and I had a performance with the Peace Together Choir!
Just a Reminder…
my mega Advent and Christmas Link Post is up! Lots of great ideas for ways to live Advent and celebrate Christmas. This year, I’ve added a link up so you can share your own links too!
I am thankful…
Mr. Pete got all of the Monk costumes made and the people loved them! They were made of fleece so they were very comfy and soft. He did it without a pattern and by the end, he was whipping them out very quickly. He has promised to do one as a tutorial for me next year for those interested in making one of these for All Saints Day!
The monk holding “Le” is Rosie.
The hand holding “Lords” is Mr. Pete.
I am pondering…
how the most successful blogs are about how to have a successful blog!
I am also pondering this banner I saw at a local Lutheran church to celebrate the 500 year anniversary of the Reformation.
Shouldn’t it read “All in with Jesus?” Wasn’t that the intent of the Reformation?
One of my Favorite Things

Listening to Ben Shapiro on Youtube.

I am going…
- To walk or do videos every day this week. I did start some weight lifting and upper-body exercises this week. My knee still bothers me a little bit. I wish it were just back to normal.
- add some additional novenas next year with the help of PrayMoreNovenas.com.
- to cut my carbs via the Wheat Belly Total Health: The Ultimate Grain-Free Health and Weight-Loss Life Plan recommendations and Intermittent Fasting.
- Taking Izzy to work five times this week!
- Continue my practice for my big performance in April.
- Send out the Christmas Cards!
This is a pretty good read so far! Really fills in the gaps of information I had about this important historical figure.
This is the book my flute teacher recommended to me years ago, It’s about mastering your inner self and giving your best performance! It’s applicable to musicians too. In fact, another musician friend who plays a keyboard instrument got the same book recommendation from her teacher!
Interestingly, I did not feel one iota of nervousness at either of my concerts over the weekend. So maybe I’m getting good at letting my second self take the lead when it comes to performing musically.
I have the Audible app on my phone as I walk the trails during cross country practice or work on the flip house scraping paint.

Maryrose:
A Gentle Advent Exploration
Latin for Children, Primer A (Latin Edition) – done with this until after Winter Break!
Done with this until after the break too!!
Rosie is also taking a writing class online using the Once Upon a Time Saint series as the writing
prompt.
We have a schedule! Rosie writes her history paper every Monday based on what she has read in her history the week before. Also on Monday, she reads her assignment in Once Upon a Saint. Then on Tuesday she writes her assignment for that class and turns in her paper. Thursday is for revisions.
A quote to share…
When I was desperately looking for ways to help Calvin learn to read, the Writer’s Jungle by Bravewriter’s Julie Bogart was a source of great inspiration to me. This fall, I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite parts that really helped me teach my kids to write – from the absolute most recalcitrant writer to the kid who has prose and poetry just dripping out of her!
We should write our own
thoughts in as nearly as possible
the language we thought them
in, as though in a letter to an
intimate friend.We should not
disguise them in any way; for
our lives give them force as the
lives of people in plays give
force to their words.
