Outside my window…

I am thinking…
about my friend’s concert today celebrating. She is celebrating 50 years as a musician.

Then it occurred to me that I have been playing the flute for 48 years. I can’t remember the time when I did not play.

I am thankful…
that Miss C. made it through the soccer season successfully. She didn’t always like it –  in fact, her favorite parts included all the drills and conditioning stuff they did before actually playing a game.

But she was pretty happy with her little meddle of participation. I think she’ll be back next season.

It occurred to me that I started taking my first born to soccer when he was 4 years old. He is now 28. I have had kids in soccer every year since – so somehow this is my 24th year of being a soccer mom.

I am pondering…
the gaining of indulgences for my loved ones.

Since a plenary indulgence can be gained from November 1 through November 8 if you visit a cemetery and pray for the dead there, I have been trying to visit the local cemeteries.  I prayed in front of this noble mausoleum on Friday.

I am using this book for my inspiration, meditation, and prayers.

• to walk or work out every day with Pfilates  – starting to transition to my basement workouts. 
• add some additional novenas next year with the help of PrayMoreNovenas.com.
• Finish cemetery indulgence work. 
• to cut my carbs via the Wheat Belly Total Health: The Ultimate Grain-Free Health and Weight-Loss Life Plan recommendations and intermittent fasting.  
• Back to scraping on the flip house.  
• Taking Izzy to work five times this week!  
• Two weddings in November to coordinate!
• Small Concert on Sunday afternoon.  

I have the Audible  app on my phone as I walk the trails during cross country practice or work on the flip house scraping paint.

Rosie is also taking a writing class online using the Once Upon a Time Saint series as the writing
prompt.

We have a schedule!  Rosie writes her history paper every Monday based on what she has read in her history the week before. Also on Monday, she reads her assignment in Once Upon a Saint. Then on Tuesday she writes her assignment for that class and turns in her paper. Thursday is for revisions.

Here’s the first paragraph of the work she did last week that pleased her teacher:

     Roman soldiers came silently off the street. They open the door quickly with a crash. They had found the congregation. They started forcefully catching people and taking them to prison. Among them was   Perpetua, her best friend Felicity (who was with child), and Felicity’s husband Augustus. Everyone knew it might happen. They lived in the Roman Empire as Christians. But why now? She had to get her son to safety! But it was too late now.
