Outside my window…

Rosie cross country Stow 2017 002
Very dry – and yesterday it was hot too!

I am thinking…
about why I keep waking up around 4:30 a.m. I make sure I quit the caffeine in the afternoon, I make sure I go to the bathroom, and I don’t stay on the computer or look at my phone before bedtime, and yet I continually wake up around that time. If it were 5 or 5:30 a.m., I would just get up, but I know I’ll be dragging in the afternoon if I get up at 4 a.m.!

I am thankful…
that our town has an 8 p.m. mass on Sunday evening – the last chance mass!  We hit it yesterday. Good music, wonderful homily.

I am pondering…
the priest’s recommendation on forgiveness. When he has someone to forgive, he takes out his rosary beads and on each one says, “I forgive you, I forgive you, I forgive you.”  It’s the first time anyone has ever given me a practical tool to use in trying to forgive someone who has hurt me.

One of my Favorite Things…

Watching the Girls have fun!

I am hearing…
the air conditioner.

In the kitchen…
Chili tonight so I can have chili/cheese potatoes later this week for dinner.

I am wearing…
Gray skort, black T.

I am going…

  • to walk or work out every day with Pfilates
  • add some additional novenas next year with the help of PrayMoreNovenas.com
  • to cut my carbs via the Wheat Belly Total Health: The Ultimate Grain-Free Health and Weight-Loss Life Plan recommendations and intermittent fasting.
  • Preparing my general science lesson for Wednesday.
  • Get all the scraping done at the flip house because Miss C. will not be allowed to spend the night with her father until it’s all scraped and apparently painted as well. This is going to take some time. But the kitchen is looking better!

  • I am going to get into this dress for my concert in April. I ordered it back in August because one of the reviewers said she bought it after she had a baby and even though she weighed 210 pounds, it looked great on her. She was also my height, so I figured, if she liked it, maybe it would look good on me too. It didn’t. But it might if I persist in my diet (low-carb and intermittent fasting).
I am reading…

Listening to this one on the Audible  app on my phone as I walk the trails during cross country practice or work on the flip house scraping paint.

Prairie Primer  – Starting with The Long Winter – which starts a lot like the early fall we are having here in Ohio!

Children’s Choir at Oaks of Righteousness Co-Op and with the parish choir.

Rosie is also taking a writing class online using the Once Upon a Time Saint series as the writing
prompt.

Izzy continues to work on the flip house with Mr. Pete.  But next week she starts a new job at a local craft store- at least through the holiday season. She is thrilled!

A quote to share…

When I was desperately looking for ways to help Calvin learn to read, the Writer’s Jungle by Bravewriter’s Julie Bogart was a source of great inspiration to me.

The Writer’s Jungle

And I’m sick to death of hearing that adult homeschooling mothers
are nervous about teaching them! That reminds me of my irrational
fear of fractions. Even after ten years of baking, I broke out in hives
opening my son’s 4th grade Miquon math book.Would I be able to find
common denominators? Did I remember how to divide a fraction? Oh
horrors! Needless to say, my son learned fractions. And so did I… indeed
I had already learned them in the kitchen.

So it is with you. If you read magazines, books, Internet articles, or
the newspaper, you are already well acquainted with paragraphs. When
you read your child’s writing, read it as if you know exactly what a paragraph
is. Then treat it accordingly.
