Outside my window…
In between rain storms, we found time for two photo shoots. One more and I think we’ll have a lot of pretty senior pictures.
about Noah’s participation in Walsh University’s production of Godspell. He was originally in the chorus. Then one of the “philosophers” in the opening scene had to drop out, so Noah was chosen to take over this small role three days before opening night. He had some lines to say and a vocal solo! I was so proud of him. The rest of the production was very enjoyable and fantastic. We went with the parents of my daughter-in-law and I think they enjoyed it as well! It was a great night.
I am thankful…
that I had a chance to get to confession on Saturday. I felt my Lent sliding off track, and that’s just what I needed to pull it back.
I am pondering…
how Rosie was able to take 30 seconds off of her 1600 meter time today! She also PR’d in her 800!
I am also pondering the ingenious way the authorities at CYO found to make me hate track season even more!
Rosie is a 6th grader. That means that for the previous three seasons, we spent hours and hours sitting on the sideline waiting for the 6th, 7th and 8th graders to run their part of the meet. But that was okay, we thought. We would put in our time as the parents of a 3rd, 4th and 5th grader believing that our time was coming! We were paying our dues! Eventually, our runner would be a 6th, 7th, or 8th grader and we would be able to go to the meet and leave with some semblance of Sunday afternoon left!!
Au contraire! This year, someone had the bright idea to rotate – one weekend the older kids would go first, and the next, the younger kids would go first! My guess is probably a parent with a younger runner complained about the schedule and CYO folded like a house of cards. So congratulations to us. We endured three years of waiting and now we just get to do it every other week!
As Mr. Pete and I were grousing about this change in schedule yesterday, I reminded him that we had better get to used to it. He is six years from the retirement age of 65 and already there is talk of bumping it up to 70.
I am hearing…
tinnitus and laughter in the kitchen.
In the kitchen…
Chili tonight and taco Tuesday!
I am going…
- to walk or work out every day with Pfilates – I did okay last week. I found one of my older Jazzercise tapes from 1995 and had a blast on Friday!
- add some additional novenas next year with the help of PrayMoreNovenas.com
- to cut my carbs via the Wheat Belly Total Health: The Ultimate Grain-Free Health and Weight-Loss Life Plan recommendations.
- More flute practice to keep in shape and get ready for Lent – especially my part for the 7 Last Words of Christ, the 7th word!
- Prepare the final exam for my Logic class in two weeks.
