Outside my window…
The return of winter and the death of all my pretty little spring flowers that bravely popped up too soon! I am soooo glad that I never got around to buying more tulip bulbs last fall!!!

I am thinking…
a lot about the OJ trial since I’m going to be talking about that on Wednesday. I think that entire episode is symptomatic of something that has gone wrong in our country. We can see and hear evidence for the truth and yet do all kinds of mental gymnastics to deny that truth. But now it’s worse than that. If you don’t deny the truth and embrace the falsehood you open yourself up to persecution and sometimes prosecution.  This doesn’t have to be something done by the state either- family and friends are pretty good about putting heritage and history aside to support an ideology.

I am thankful…

for the introspection of Lent.

I am pondering…

in my 7-quick takes last week I wrote about what it felt like to have two of my favorite young women come to me for advice and assistance. They made me feel needed, wanted, and loved.

And that made me think that’s probably how God feels when we turn to him in prayer with all of our wants and needs.

Every year, I tell our pre-Cana couples that God will send the children that we need to teach us a lesson that we need to learn. That’s true. But I think sometimes God also sends us little reminders from the younger generations to teach us more about God’s nature as our Father.

I am hearing…
nothing right now, but earlier I was listening to some Youtube videos about the OJ Simpson murder trial, looking for information I want to include in my lecture on Wednesday.

In the kitchen…
Probably chili cheese potatoes, tacos, spaghetti, and pea soup on the menu this week since hamburger was on sale.  Trying this cauliflower grilled cheese on Friday.  Planning to make our own Shamrock Shakes on Friday to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

    A quote to share…

“There is a mountain of evidence pointing to this man’s guilt, but when you mention that word to this jury or to any African-American, it blinds people. It will blind the jury…to the truth…it will impair their ability to be fair and impartial…. Mr. Cochran wants to play the ace of spades and play the race card…but you shouldn’t allow him to play that card…. It’s the prosecution’s position that if you allow Mr. Cochran to use this word and play this race card, not only does the direction and focus of the case change, but the entire complexion of the case changes. It’s a race case then. It’s white versus black, African-American versus Caucasian, us versus them, us versus the system. It’s not an issue of simple guilt or innocence,
