Outside my window…

I am thinking…
about Colleen Deloughery, who perished in the 9/11/2001 attacks 15 years ago.  I wonder about the lives of her children and her husband and her other relatives who were so helpful to me when I memorialized Colleen for the 2996 Project a few years back. I hope they are all well. We continue to pray for Colleen and her family, and all those who lost their lives that day.

I am thankful…
For the sacrament of confession that I was able to get there last week.

In the kitchen…
Marinated Chicken for tomorrow and meat balls later this week.

I am wearing…
Gray capris and a black T-Shirt.

I am pondering...
It’s been 10 years since this epic battle on my blog with a young liberal.  My opponent was a 23-year-old girl at the time – the same age that my second son is right now. So I was somewhat heartened when I read this tweet.  Learning to treat people with respect is a big part of maturing, and it wasn’t always something I felt from her. 

Of course listen to people. Treat people with respect. But also some ideologies are poisonous & bad, even if they’re “authentic.”

But then I saw this just a few tweets earlier and now I think the jury is still out.

Some people – LOTS of people – in Real America are under-educated, have terrible ideas, and hold a small-minded view of the world.

Presumably only New Yorkers, with college degrees have wonderful ideas and are open minded. She is now 33, and living in Africa where she followed her boyfriend.  I’ll check back in another 10. I wish her well.

• to walk or work out every day with Pfilates . I have to include some arm work out with this. 
• Hoping to amp up my prayer life this week and take advantage of the 40 hours of Eucharistic Adoration. 
• to cut my carbs via the Wheat Belly Total Health: The Ultimate Grain-Free Health and Weight-Loss Life Plan  recommendations. 
• See Rosie race on Sunday.
• Start some heavy duty flute practice. 

Heartbreaking – and such an indictment of the legal system in Canada and the US.

Favorite things…

I bought this bag in tan last month to carry my phone, driver’s license and my debit card. I use it on my walks when I have my ear buds plugged in, and all the time just to go to the store or any fast errand. I recently ordered one in black too.
