Outside my window…

Izzy trying to convince Miss C. that it’s okay to plug your nose when you put your face in the water! Especially when you’re only 2 years old!

I am thinking…
about the great gentleman in our parish who died about a week ago.  He was a devout Catholic, a loving husband, good father, and cherished grandfather. He also was not afraid of technology and wrote frequently in online forums and even had his own Facebook Page.

A few years ago, after his wife’s funeral, he introduced me to a friend of his, and he gave me a great compliment. I’ll decline sharing that with you here, mostly because I don’t feel worthy of it. But I’m still glad he said it and it’s something that I try every day to live up to.

I am thankful…
for the examples from the generations ahead of mine – and I appreciate the more and more as time goes by.

In the kitchen…
Ribs in the crock pot with sauce.

I am wearing…
A denim dress with embroidered front that is one of my favorites. I just pull it over my head and go!

I am pondering...
Noah’s first week of college. My head is swimming with all of the information I have read about paying for college and getting scholarships etc.

But it also seems that he had a very good first week running with the cross country team, and he made friends in other parts of the school in all of the Opening Weekend Activities – so I am very excited about his future.

Also – he only used 1/2 a tank of gas after driving 30 minutes away six days in a row!!  Much cheaper that dorm room expenses!

I am going…

    A quote to share…

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

The kids in our homeschool group. Can you tell we have quite a few middle and high school aged kids?

    1. Wonderful photos 🙂 I've considered the Wheat Belly program, too.
      Have a great week!
