Outside my window…
One of my Iris flowers blooming this week.
I am thinking…
that I have to get all of my NCAA stuff done today and tomorrow because I start work again on Wednesday and I will be busy again.
I have to say I’m just a tad resentful that all of my plans for cleaning and organizing fell by the way side since I have had to put hours into getting this stuff ready! Nonetheless, as of last night I was half way through!
I am thankful…
that we made it through the weekend. Two dances, one championship, and a piano recital. Probably what Mr. Pete remembers most is getting all the lawn mowed at our flip house!
In the kitchen…
Chicken nuggests a la paleo style.
I am wearing…
black capris, green T, my workout shoes.
I am reading…
Also part of Izzy’s health class for next year.
I am pondering...
weird mouth things.
A couple of years ago I had this weird painful tongue. I haven’t had it since and I remember thinking about that last week. Apparently that was all it took to bring it back!
It sort of started with this chipped molar I have on one side of my mouth. It’s a little jagged but smoothing out. It doesn’t hurt and I really don’t want to have it crowned. If I did anything I would probably just have it pulled. But anyway, this jagged tooth does snag food sometimes, particularly meat. That happened to me last Thursday and I stupidly used a plastic straw to clear the trapped food particles. The next day my gums on that side just ached and I couldn’t chew on that side. So I did my standard treatment – Aleve, salt water, and then Listerine gargle. And the next day my gums were a lot better. But my tongue was burning. It made for an interesting weekend when it came to eating – such as there wasn’t much I could eat without hurting somewhere. As of this morning though, this seems to be a lot better too. I never had problems like this 10 or even 20 years ago. This must be one of the wonders of the aging process!
So dear reader, you’re probably wondering why I don’t just go to the dentist. I don’t have dental insurance. And I take excellent care of my teeth.
It’s kind of macabre but when my mother died and I was helping to get her ready for the funeral home, I remember thinking how much money she had spent on dental work. It made her feel better and I appreciate that, but I think I just want to avoid that kind of investment in teeth that will, after all, end up in the ground one day.

Some of my favorite things…
After competing in the 3200 for Districts on Friday night. Noah came home, showered, changed and…
and then put his dancing shoes on once more to take his sister to the homeschool dance!
You turn men back to dust
and say: “Go back, sons of men.”
To your eyes a thousand years
are like yesterday, come and gone,
no more than a watch in the night.
You sweep men away like a dream,
like grass which springs up in the morning.
In the morning it springs up and flowers:
by evening it withers and fades.
So we are destroyed in your anger,
struck with terror in your fury.
Our guilt lies open before you;
our secrets in the light of your face.
All our days pass away in your anger.
Our life is over like a sigh.
Our span is seventy years
or eighty for those who are strong.
And most of these are emptiness and pain.
They pass swiftly and we are gone.
Who understands the power of your anger
and fears the strength of your fury?
Make us know the shortness of our life
that we may gain wisdom of heart.
Lord, relent! Is your anger for ever?
Show pity to your servants.
Psalm 90

I don't know what Pfilates, is so I'm going to have to click your link.
I need to cut carbs too, but I've never checked out Wheat Belly.
Noah looks very handsome, and his date's dress is absolutly beautiful!
I've never heard of a homeschool dance even though my sister in law homeschooled all of her kids.
What a cute little girl!
A beautiful prom picture!! I agree with you about the dentist! Why do they have to charge so much??
