Outside my window…

The dead brown petals on my magnolia tree – I know they are going to make a big mess when they finally drop off.

I am thinking…
About my kid coming back from Manipuelation in Idylewood, CA hopefully tonight.

This was a gathering of “object manipulators.”  By this definition of object, “a material thing that can be seen and touched, ”  I have been an object manipulator for my entire life!  In fact, as I write this post, I am manipulating the object known as “keyboard.”  Earlier this evening I was manipulating an object known as a stove, a food processor, and various kitchen utensils!

I am thankful…
That they had a good time, and still keeping fingers crossed that they get all the way home safely.

In the kitchen…
I am in carbohydrate hell.  My runners have to eat high carb especially before races.  Because Noah has had races the past two school days, I have been making our big daily meal at lunch time. Tonight I sliced potatoes and cooked them with some ham, cheese, peas, and cream of mushroom soup (gluten free) and made a nice casserole.  I’ll be glad to get back to our usual meat and a veggie routine tomorrow.

I am wearing…
A skort!  and a t shirt.  It’s nice weather for it finally.

I am reading…

I am pondering...
the civil war now that we are closing our study of it.  I highly recommend Ken Burns: The Civil War (Commemorative Edition)

I am going…

A quote to share…

Life is often compared to a marathon, but I think it is more like being a sprinter; long stretches of hard work punctuated by brief moments in which we are given the opportunity to perform at our best.
