Outside my window…

Not really outside MY window (I wish!!) but a view of the newlyweds enjoying Easter Sunday in North Carolina

I am thinking…
about dates, and holidays and how wondrous God is.

From the year 326 until the  year 4099,  Good Friday and March 25th, The Feast of the Annunciation, coincide only a total of 98 times!  It only happened three times in the 19th century including 1864 (a year before the end of the American Civil War) and it happened three times in the 20th century 1910, 1921 and 1932. In the 21st Century this happened in 2005 and it also happened this past weekend.

And that’s it!  It won’t happen again until 2157.

This picture illustrates the significance of this event.

Mary and Jesus

My son Noah, who is discerning the priesthood, turned 18 on Friday. I’m not sure what that means, but I don’t think it’s an accident. I think there is a message there from God somewhere for him. Maybe I’ll never know what it is, but hopefully he will as he continues to pray and discern his vocation.

Likewise, I think the passing of Mother Angelica on Easter Sunday, after this special Good Friday/Annunciation date is also significant and appropriate for such a brave and wise woman of God.

I am thankful…

for all the years Mother Angelica gave us, and for EWTN.

In the kitchen…
Left over ham and fixings

I am wearing…
Black pants and pink turtle neck, as the weather is once more, cold.

I am pondering...
what the future holds for all of my children. One child is going to travel across the United States this summer, and I’m debating whether to get him a AAA membership or a St. Christopher medal!

I am also pondering the death of a dear priest (also on Easter Sunday)  He was one of the best confessors I have ever been too – he always took his time, listened intently and never yelled or laughed at me. He was truly a very holy man.

I am going…

From the Learning Rooms…
Spring Break!!

One of my favorite things…

Easter 2016

Me and my girls.  Rosie is wearing her dress from last summer’s wedding – which is now quite a bit shorter than it was just 8 months ago!  I am wearing a dress from eBay that was only $9 and fit quite well.  Izzy is hiding because she was wearing her sneakers and didn’t want anyone to see them under her skirt!
