Izzy and T with the parish choir, singing the Star Spangled Banner before the start of the parish 5K sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
I am thinking…
The 5K was late this year because there was a problem with the timing company – but they had a record turn out and the weather was still good – so I’d say it worked out pretty well!
I am thankful…
that Rosie and Noah both did well in their respective races.
Someone noted that the top 4 runners were all alumni of the parish CYO’s cross country team. I think that is a real tribute to our hard working coach!
In the kitchen…
I am thinking about my options. I want to try to keep my carbs down to about 15 grams per meal which is really hard to stay under. Probably a lot of meals involving salad this week.
I am wearing…
Gray pants, black stretch long-sleeved shirt and my newer black and white sweater that I got at the Womens City Club Rummage Sale a few weeks ago.
I am reading…
I am pondering...
what to do with certain boys in our youth group. Three of the boys were involved with taking the car keys from another boy and then driving his car out of the parking lot.
In grown up legal words we call that grand theft auto. When you are 16 or 17 years old, police officers don’t hesitate to use those kinds of legal words.
Two of those boys are neighbors. As a result of their behavior at youth group, they are no longer allowed to come into my house, mainly because they showed poor impulse control and bad judgement.
The third boy was involved with this clavicle scandal in the spring. I never said anything to his parents, but after this new incident, I think they need to know about it.
As a side note, all of my bills are paid for that except the hospital bill.
I am going…
- to walk or work out every day with Pfilates. Trying to get back some weight work out as well. Looks like I need to revert back to my morning workouts in the basement…ugh.
From the Learning Rooms…
We are at the semester break for our co-op. I am SUPER GLAD that Economics is over. What I thought might be an easy 1/2 credit ended up taking a lot of extra time and took the focus off of reading and writing that I wanted for my special needs high school student.
That said though, it was still a good experience for them. They both seem to have a very good understanding of economics including free-market, capitalism, socialism and communism. And it was a good experience to pressure Noah with more paper writing in his senior year.
I hope to push Health now that is over for 1/2 credit and end with government.

One of my favorite things…
“O God, who hast commanded us to honor our father and our mother; in Thy mercy have pity on the souls of my father and mother and forgive them their trespasses; and make me see them again in the joy of everlasting brightness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
Catholic Prayer for the Dead
A picture to share…
My prayer basket, with all of the holy cards of the people I have known, or cards that my mother and grandmother kept- to pray for their souls during the month of November.
