We started our Thanksgiving Day with the annual Run for the Homeless. This is their biggest fundraiser of the year and the funds raised provide food for many people throughout the year.

Noah and Rosie were my only runners this year.  I registered them on Monday and as you can see, they were 850 and 851. There were over 2000 runners, so it seems there were a lot of registrations in the last few days before Thanksgiving. But it was a beautiful day for a run, in the low 60s, so maybe the weather forecast encouraged more registrations.

Rosie was in the top 10% and when I checked the stats, there was not a single female of her age or younger that came in before her.  For the four mile race her time was 29:43 which was a 7 minute, 29 seconds per mile pace.

Noah was the 64th runner in at 24:34 at 6:09 minutes/ mile for the four mile course.  Also a pretty good time.

As you can see in the pictures, the course runs through the beautiful and historic, Glendale Cemetery.

I mentioned in a previous post that we were changing things up this Thanksgiving – we enjoyed a couple slabs of ribs instead of Turkey- and they were delicious!

4. A small, but happy group for dinner!

In my quest to have memories of my granddaughter while she’s little, and to introduce her to arts and crafts, here is the little print we did before Thanksgiving Day – the wings were her little hands and the body was her foot.  She is pretty easy to work with – we just paint her up and then start making prints on construction paper!  We made three prints- one for us, one for her mom, and one for her other grandma.

I couldn’t resist getting this at her naptime this week. This was my grandma’s bed and I have fond memories of sleeping in it when I was a girl.  And now my grandma’s great-great granddaughter is using it – I like that.

Not too long ago, my girls slept in it too!

7. I’ve mentioned that I am part of a musical group that has cut a CD for the Christmas Season.
