I know I post a lot of pictures of my runners, but Izzy has a bit of the athlete in her as well.  She was pretty proud of this header during her soccer game last week.

And although she doesn’t like to run distances like her siblings, she can do pretty well on the soccer field.

2. Rosie had an amazing race last week!   She ran the 1 1/2 mile in 10 minutes 32 seconds.  She was 3rd out of 52 runners and set a PR (Personal record).

As she was coming towards the finish line she was all alone, and it was a beautiful thing to see!

She was pretty proud of herself too!

Pete and I were so proud of her accomplishment  – we were beaming all the way home.

Lest, dear reader, you think we are being prideful, please remember that there were seasons with some of our other children when we were the last to leave the meets because our runner was still on the trail somewhere, last or second to the last to come in.

We had those talks about just doing your best, and beating your own time etc.  We even got on  a first name basis with the race officials because we usually hung around for 15 to 20 minutes after most people went home while our child got to the finish line.

So after 11 years of that, it’s kind of nice to have one child who is running at the front of the pack!

4.  Noah is starting World History online next week.  He has to read this book before Tuesday.

Luckily, I was able to find it on Audible.com, so he can listen to it while he is doing other things and hopefully get through most  of it.

5.  Audible.com also allowed me to put our Economics text book and our literature book on my kindle and computer, so my students can use that to help them get through their reading. It also took a lot of stress off of me!

6.  I think I mentioned last week that we have tons of reading to do this week, especially in our co-op classes.  After passing the CLEP in Biology last week, Noah decided to buckle down and get familiar with his chemistry text.

I guess he’s assimilating the material by osmosis!

We finally had our first and last trip to Lake Erie on Labor Day.  It was little Miss C’s first time to the big lake and I think she was quite enthralled with it!

Here is father and daughter tipping their toes in the warm water on a beautiful late summer day!
