I am thinking…
about how much I love this time of year.  Every morning, I take Noah and Rosie to the park to run with the high school cross country team. While they’re doing that, I get a nice 3 1/2 to 4 mile walk in.  It takes me about an hour and I have my phone with talks and apps to keep my mind occupied.  It’s such a restorative!

I am thankful…
that Calvin’s wedding day is only a few weeks away.  Until then, I have to also plan Izzy’s sweet 16 party and facilitate two other weddings at church.  June is anything but restful!

I have…
a granddaughter who has suddenly become very clingy to me.  She has, until this point, been more huggy with Izzy.  Noah thinks it’s because I exude the essence of authority figure. I think it’s because I let her splash around in the little blow up pool.  Whatever it is, I love it when she puts her little head on my shoulder to cuddle. Despite my best resistance, I think I love being her grandma!

In the kitchen…
It’s taco night!

I am wearing…
Gray sweat pants and black knit top from K Mart

I am reading…

I am going…

  • to walk or work out every day but Thursday with Pfilates.
  • Get my transcripts for the kids up to date.  I use the HSLDA’s transcript service.
  • Probably work on scraping the new house.

From the Learning Rooms…
We’re enjoying a little bit of a break but Noah is still working on:

Speaking of Noah, I took a closer look at his ACT scores from April.  He was in the 85th percentile for reading comprehension in reading and literature!  So reading all of the classics since jr. high seemed to pay off in a tangible way on this exam.  I can’t wait to get the results of his second ACT exam.

One of my favorite things…

The choir I perform with has cut a New CD, which will be out before Christmas. I am featured quite heavily in this one and Mr. Pete had a solo.

Anyway, last Thursday we met in a lovely historic church to listen to the finished product and I couldn’t help getting a picture of this lovely stained glass window.

I am hoping to …

  • Get lots of flute practice done.
  • Organizing my office, classroom, and laundry.
  • Take the kids to the zoo if it cools down a bit!

I am looking forward to...

the wedding.  I’m dreading it too.  Is it normal to feel both?
A quote to share…

“Remember mother-in-law?  They used to be the most talked about women in the world.  By reputation, if she ws the bride’s mother she was the one who ran the whole wedding. If she was the groom’s mother she wore beige and kept her mouth shut.”
