Outside my window…

I am thinking…
I mentioned before that I take a lot of pictures, but I am not IN as many pictures. This is pure vanity on my part.  I think I look too old and too fat, and I just prefer to not be in them.

That came to bite me in the butt this weekend. Some of the bridesmaids made a beautiful photo book for my future daughter-in-law and gave it to her at the shower. It chronicled the love story between my son and his fiance from 2006 forward.  There were at least six pictures in that book that I remember taking, but not a single picture of me in the entire book.

I’m going to start working on being more photo-present from now on!

I am thankful…
for the good and wise counsel of my little sister.

I am wondering…
about this gift my sister has.  She is able to accurately read a person’s true self after spending a little bit of time with them.

For example there is an acquaintance of mine that sis has only had the opportunity to meet very briefly twice. Frankly, I like this acquaintance and have had only positive experiences and friendly vibes from her, but sis told me that I should beware. Her warning was along the lines of, “She doesn’t think very much of you at all!”

I got confirmation of that from a third party this weekend.  I guess I’m not too shocked, because Sis has been spot on in reading people in the past. For example, she disliked my EFC, even before she showed her true colors.  I just wonder how Sis does it?  How do you become such a keen reader of people that you can see their true selves before they become evident?   I wish I knew, it would save me from a lot of trouble!

In the kitchen…
No clue.  Mr. Pete went to the grocery store for Mother’s Day food but not for the week.  I’ll figure it out later today I guess.

I am wearing…
a pretty denim dress I bought a few years ago at the thrift store – it’s one of my favorites.

I am reading…

One of my favorite things…

Flowers for Mother’s Day from my three oldest sons!  Plus I got to have breakfast with my second son Sam!

I am hoping to …

  • Get lots of flute practice done.
  • Organizing my office and the classroom.
  • Get a budget and time table together on our new real estate venture.  We should close this week – for real this time according to the realtor AND because I have actual papers to deliver to the title office tomorrow!
  • I am looking forward to...

Still looking to close on that new fixer-upper house!  Also hoping to watch Rosie run in two big meets this week! And of course more Saturday Soccer!
    grey vs yellow 2

Also hoping for more healing for Noah.  The plate in his arm and the six screws make him feel back to normal – good even! But it’s not the bone doing the work- it’s the hardware and if he stresses the bone too much by overdoing it, he can get micro fractures which will weaken things further and make a bigger recovery.  So slow and steady is going to win this race!
