Outside my window…

Untitled
Babyland at Holy Cross Cemetery, after my family hung all the Easter eggs on the bushes.

Rosie practicing for track season on her own.
They cancelled practice, so she decided to run on her own, 5 Times around the park!

First meet of the season.
Noah’s first meet of the season.

I am thinking…
about ways to sharpen my memory.  When I put things in a certain place, I make a mental note to help myself remember – like putting my keys in a specific location or putting my transcription work in my office.

I need to do something like that to help me remember who I have told certain stories to.  I like to share things that are going on and little stories, but it’s embarrassing to have someone tell you that you’ve already shared that with them!  Besides asking them to tell me if I’ve already shared, I’m going to try to make a mental note and really remember the experience so that I won’t repeat it.  We’ll see if that works.

I am thankful…
for a beautiful Easter Vigil and my new Goddaughter- and also getting together with my family and new soon-to-be inlaws!

I am Pondering…
how I will make it through my first-born son’s move.  I’m actually pretty good about it and we had a great day Sunday. But when he tried to talk to me about it I started to cry.  I guess as long as I am not focusing on it specifically, I can handle it.

I know kids are supposed to leave their parents.
I’m not the first mom to have her child go far away.  I remember Father Damien’s mother who said goodbye to her son in Belgium and then never saw him again. (Damien is Calvin’s confirmation name.)

But I still feel sorrow and heart ache.  It will lessen, I can handle it. I still feel it.

In the kitchen…
Easter leftovers – of ham and potato salad!

I am wearing…
Yoga pants and a pink T-shirt.

I am going…

  • to walk or work out every day but Thursday.
  • move my spring cleaning to the classroom and office again.

  • Get lots of flute practice done.
  • Organizing my office and the classroom.

I am looking forward to...

actually, I’m dreading something this week. But I do have  a couple of track meets to attend!

A quote to share… I could have never said goodbye to you if we had not said that last rosary. Our Lady sure came through at the right time. I just didn’t want you to drive away crying. But the flood gates opened up later, when I went to straighten up your room. But I said to myself, this will never do. She has not gone away forever, she will be back to see us from time to time.
I just want to tell you what a precious child you were to me. From the day you were born, you seemed to understand

My Grandmother to my mother after her wedding in 1958.

 A picture to share…
