Outside my window...

I am thinking…
about the old saying, “No good deed goes unpunished.”  That certainly tends to be true for Mr. Pete.  Last Sunday he was called by a single female friend of ours to come fix her basement pump.  Without hesitation Mr. Pete grabbed his tools and headed out.  When he came back a few hours later he was limping because her dog met him at the door with a vicious bite.  He was mad about it, but he went in and worked with the pipe anyway.

A few days later his bite turned a very angry red color, was swollen and warm – and he didn’t tell me about it.  Turns out he was afraid to go to the emergency room because then his free good dead would end up costing over $100.  Instead he’s been nursing it with a poultice and Neosporin and it actually looked and felt  better this morning, but what a souvenir for being a good guy!

I am thankful…
that Calvin has almost been cleared by the field training officers to be a full member of the Cleveland paramedic squad. They haven’t totally signed off on him yet because they want him to work on a few issues, but overall they seem to want to keep him. He did get high marks for his driving and maneuvering the ambulance around the city.  I guess learning to drive on a 15 passenger van when he was 16 has paid some dividends!

In the kitchen…
Turkey, potatoes and salad.

I am wearing…
Black pants, black and gray knot top, and black sweater.

I am creating…
an updated speech to give to the 8th grade confirmation girls this week.  Wondering what to cut and what to keep, and wondering what the high school girls have planned.

  • be diligent in my prayer time.
  • practice my flute.
  • Write some blog posts.
  • Get in four workouts. Today I did  –
