Spread the love

Outside my window...

I am thinking…

about the late great Shirley Temple.  My mother introduced me to her movies when I was a little girl and I introduced them to my girls too.  When Shirley was happy and dancing, so were we.  But who could keep a sad lump out of their throat when poor little Shirley was sad.

I am thankful…
that all of Ms. Temple’s works are easily available online or on DVD so that new generations of children will know her work and enjoy them as past generations have.

In the kitchen…
Tonight we had hamburger with a marinara sauce served on flat bread for the family, and special coconut flat bread for me.  The flat bread didn’t turn out very well although it still tasted good.  That is the first recipe out of this book that didn’t work out well.  All the others have been great!

I am wearing…
Brown workout pants, black knit top and my discount store winter jacket that is keeping me very warm tonight!

I am creating…
Today Rosie and I made

In lieu of reading the Crucible, we watched that as well.  I think plays are better to actually watch than just read and since the screenplay was also by Aurthur Miller, this seemed like a good compromise.

    • Latin for Homeschoolers for Noah
    • English from the Roots Up for Izzy.
    •  Diane Craft reading program for Izzy.  She is about to start the very last Merrill Reader.  I am so happy with the improvement that she has made since we started this program.

    • Pathway readers for Rosie and the Wand for Language arts.

    1. It's so sad about Ms. Temple-Black. Don't forget about her outstanding work as a diplomat. In some ways her later life while much less publicised was more interesting than her days as a starlet.

    2. Oh I agree – I think it would have been very interesting to be the chief of protocol for the United States government!
