I am thinking…
being hooked to my computer listening to notched ear therapy via Audionotch.com gives me a good excuse to spend more time reading and blogging online!

I am thankful …
for the season of Lent, for the lessons it has taught me and my family, and looking to go bravely into Easter.

From the learning rooms
Gabe and Noah and I are reading To Kill a Mockingbird.  We are up to chapter 19 and are in the midst of the famous Tom Robinson Trial.

  • Spelling program per Dr. Holinga for all four kids, who are all on Part B.
  • Instacert for History and start American History part 2, mainly for Noah.  Gabe has no interest.
  • American History at Homeschool Connections Recorded Courses.
  • Apologia Science – Physical for Gabe and Noah.  Biology for Gabe . General for Izzy.
  • Saxon math for all with math tutor for Gabe (Geometry) and Noah (Algebra I.  Izzy is doing pre-algebra and 8th grade math. Rosie- second half of 2nd grade math.
  • Rosetta Stone Latin 3 – for Noah and Gabe
  • Diane Craft reading program for Izzy.IncludingMerrill Reading Program – Lift Off Student Reader – We Level F: Student Reader Level F.  We are pushing to finish Level F before our spring break!
  • On the Banks of Plum Creek Boy with Izzy. The Little House books are very charming, but reading them as an adult I can see all of the heart ache and disaster in them!  I can’t complain about being without my van when I just read about Charles Ingals walking 300 miles just to find work!!
  • I have also added The Prairie Primer: Literature Based Unit Studies Utilizing the “Little House” Series for the comprehension questions and enrichment.
  • Pathway readers for Rosie and the Wand for Language arts.  She just started More Days Go By last week.
  • Rosie and I are also reading Little House in the Highlands.

    From the kitchen…
I cooked a turkey yesterday.  Tonight we are having turkey noodle soup and Thursday Turkey noodle casserole!  Turkey sandwiches for lunch today!

    I am wearing…
    Grey pants and gray shirt.

    I am creating…
a quiet home for Lent, immersing myself in more of my Lenten readings and prayer, and helping my children in the season as well.  For Easter we are making cupcakes, two salads, and my sister’s cheesy potato recipe for dinner at sis’s house on Sunday.

    I am going…
to get some workouts in this week – moving them to the afternoon since I can’t in the morning now that Ih have to take Mr. Pete to work.

    I am reading…

    For Lent!
Also got Scott Hahn’s new Lenten book for my Kindle.

    I am hearing…
the soothing white noise from Audionotch.com.  I’m not sure if it’s helping or not, but it certainly is a welcome relief in my ears!

    A Picture to share…
