Outside my window

Icy Creek
I am thinking…
about the very busy week this week.  Noah has physical therapy twice in the mornings and running every night – except for the night he has choir and tutoring.  Izzy had her confirmation retreat this weekend. Last night we had the meeting for Rosie’s first reconciliation, tonight is our church history class, tomorrow is rehearsal for music ministry at church. Then on top of the normal music and art lessons, I have to go in early tomorrow to help translate a letter from Izzy’s Italian art teacher into English!  Oh and Gabe has a job interview – it’s a full plate.

I am thankful …
that I was confirmed as a baby!  In Diocese of Santa Fe in the late 50s, babies were baptized and confirmed at the same time.  There were no letters to write, or  saint to research or service hours to complete, or retreats to attend – just show up in a beautiful gown with your parents and god-parents and receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit! (or the Holy Ghost at that time).

From the learning rooms

From the kitchen…
I have been determined to use only what we have in the pantry when I make dinner in the evening.  Tonight I discovered that a whole package of chicken breasts (which I was planning to broil in a slathering of Italian Dressing under the broiler) was only two chicken breasts!  In stead I pan fried the chicken with some garlic powder and salt and then cut the chicken up fine and then added rotini noodles and Alfredo sauce – it was very good

I am wearing…
Black pants, purple top and black cafe jacket.

I am creating…
A letter for Izzy’s confirmation retreat.  I am also having to get my talk to the confirmation girls up to par. I’m a little nervous this year since my own daughter will actually be there to hear the talk!

I am going…
to get at least three workouts in this week – Got only two in last week so I have to up my game.

Am also following through on a punishment for Gabe. – Gabe left the house Saturday at 1 p.m. and didn’t show up again until 2 a.m. We couldn’t get him by phone or text.  I of course was horrified that we would  find him dead in a ditch somewhere.  I was a nervous wreck.  Mr. Pete made me go to bed and said if he wasn’t back when we woke up, we’d have to call the police.  Luckily, Gabe came back but I was absolutely exhausted with stress and worry.  His punishment is to be grounded all of this week.  And it hasn’t been too bad!  He has accepted his punishment, he is getting more done at home and I think he’s actually relieved to be on the slow track for a while.  He has a job interview this week too so if he gets that, I hope that will make this a singular episode.

I am reading…

I am hearing…
the buzzing in my ears, he hum of the computer.
