Outside my window

Very nice photo of Ohio this week by Tim Fitzwater on Flickr

I am thinking…
about Advent and Christmas time.  I have more than half of my shopping done – and 80% of that was done on line via eBay or Amazon. People – trust me – online shopping is so much easier and stress free than going to the actual stores to shop!  And I love how little packages are pouring in all of the time! That’s a fun side benefit I hadn’t thought about.

Rosie needed a couple of more Ken dolls, and the only Ken I could find that I liked was from an eBay seller in Texas – it was the 1989 Ice Capades Barbie and Ken!  So I got them both for about $20 but when they arrived I found that she had sent me Ice Capades Barbie and Big Hair Barbie- no Ken!  Which was really unfortunate because another gift for Rosie is going to be some Ken Clothes! (also purchased on eBay!)  But the seller contacted me about the mistake and I bought the extra Barbie for only $10 and she will send me the Ken doll.  So not only am I done with Rosie’s Christmas presents – but I now have a birthday gift to bank!!

I am thankful …
for my computer-which failed to load Windows and ended up in a boot-loop from Saturday to Sunday!  I was able to take it in and they fixed it – but I really missed everything in my computer while it was out.  But I took a page from my own book and didn’t stress out about it.  It’s just a machine – it’s people that really count and my family is all safe and doing well.

From the kitchen…
I am thinking baked chicken, potato and salad for tonight!

I am wearing…
My workout clothes- this morning I have already done a workout, prayed the office and now I am blogging!  (which leaves time for a 5 minute shower!)

I am creating…
some art lesson plans for Rosie hopefully this week! We will be doing a cooking craft for St. Nicholas Feast Day!

I am going…

  • To get a workout done every day this week.  I got three in last week and one walk.
  • To get in more flute practice time in.  My concert last weekend went very well and I have two this weekend. I also have to rehearse with the bell choir and with the parish choir.
  • Finish my Christmas shopping which is more than halfway done!! ha ha ha
  • Address Christmas cards- which are ordered and on their way!

I am reading…
Finished he autobiography of Frederick Douglas with Gabe and Noah. Half way through Farmer Boy with Izzy

and Rosie is doing some copy work exercises to go with The Story of Ping.

I’m thinking of either Death comes to the Archbishop for the next book or Riders of the Purple Sage. But for December all four of the kids and I are reading A Wrinkle in Time – we needed something lighter for the holiday season!

I am hearing…
Humm of my computer and the girls getting ready to do school.

  1. I love doing all my shopping on line also. Why would anyone want to fight the stores at this time of the year is beyond me.
