Outside my window…
Dark and gloomy – it is starting to look like fall around here.

I am thinking…
about so many things.  I have been looking at some of the discussions I had on Facebook with different liberals and independents, and trying to re-read their arguments and then read over my responses.  The one thing that I found super annoying is the fact that I would counter a point only to be met with comments like, “I feel like you are attacking me!”  Why is it that people can no longer separate disagreement about issues with attacks on the person?  I also wonder why it’s okay to put out controversial positions on a place like Facebook, but it’s not okay to disagree about the controversial position?

Oh, and I missed my blogiversary again  – 9 years of blogging as of November 4.  Time flies…
I am thankful …

the election is over…

although I dread the time to come.  And I keep thinking to myself that my grandparents sure never saw this coming!

• Gabe and Noah are Reading the Autobiography of Frederick Douglas, which is really a great read so far!  I’m hoping to get the video biography of U.S. Grant this week too. 
• Spelling program per Dr. Holinga for all four kids.  
• Instacert for History and start American History part 2  We are up to 1876. 
• Apologia Science – Physical for Gabe and Noah  General for Izzy.  Thinking about starting astromy with Rosie. 
• Saxon math for all with math tutor for Gabe, Izzy and Rosie- Noah is doing Algebra I, Saxon. 
• Rosetta Stone Latin 2 – only one unit left for Noah and Gabe
• Diane Craft reading program for Izzy.
• Back to Farmer Boy for Izzy’s reading. and the Story of Ping this week for Rosie. Pathway readers for Rosie and the Wand for Language arts.

I am going…

• Starting to wean off of the walking regimen and start up with the exercise videos in the basement – sigh. I got one video done yesterday and amazingly, my shoulder started to feel better!?  Wonder what’s up with that.  I think I will continue to walk too as long as the snow holds off. 
• Have to start figuring in some flute practice time since my performances are starting very soon.
• Get a column ready in advance for Catholic Mom.com – my column for this month was rejected because I mentioned getting a concealed carry gun license (legally) and encouraging my kids towards the same – although in reality I was thinking of the BIG kids – Sam (almost 20) and Gabe (17 1/2).  But I grew up around guns, as did my mother and my grandfather. I even fired a shot gun when I was around 10 and I remember how hard it was because of the kick back! So for me to write that was not a big deal. It is after all, the right of American citizenship. It’s not against Catholicism either.
