Spread the love

The beautiful Cuyahoga River yesterday afternoon

I am thinking…
Preparing for Easter.  My sister and I haven’t decided any of the details yet.  I need to get dress shoes for Izzy and Rosie.

I am thankful for…
for the mild winter that we just went through and grateful for lower utilities.

From the learning rooms
I decided to take all of this week off (except for reading with Izzy and Rosie) and then Easter Monday.  I just need the break. And while my kids are telling me that the regular school teachers are tougher because  they are all holding out until Friday for break to start, I realize they have no idea what it’s like in regular school just before spring break. So I have no guilt, none, for taking this week and part of next week off.

That said, Gabe and Noah did finish Moby Dick last week and we even watched the movie to celebrate.  We now start on the Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin.

I did take a lot of time over the weekend to get my transcripts done for Sam, start transcripts for Gabe and even Noah  and it feels very good to have that all done.  After listening to Lee Binz’s free webinar over the weekend, I just decided it was time to pull all of those loose ends together. I had purchased her Total Transcript Solution a while back, read all of the literature and listened to her MP3 downloads as well as doing a lot of my own research,  so I felt confident that these transcripts are of good quality, fair and accurate.

    From the kitchen…

Meatloaf tonight, roast tomorrow, pancakes for the last Wednesday in Lent, Chicken and pasta for Thursday and fish for Good Friday

    I am wearing…
Gray pants, T shirt and pink hoodie, with boots while I wait for my socks to dry.

    I am creating…
a clean house for Easter. I also have some crafts I want to do with the girls.  Hopefully within the next week or so Izzy and I are going to start sewing with our new sewing machine -courtesy of the tax refund I’m expecting!

    New Sewing machine
Got a good deal on this one too – an almost $600 machine for only $200. And since the last time I bought a sewing machine was 1978- I think I was due!

    I am going…
ease back into working out.  My back is feeling so much better.  The one thing I have learned about being over 50 is that it is never worth risking an injury, because they derail your plans and take longer to recover from.

    I am reading…
    just the bible this week.

    I am hoping…
to get some crafts done with the girls for Easter and Holy Thursday.  I have some good ones here and will post them.

    I am hearing…
    the hum of the computer

    Around the house…
my tulips are up!  and what seemed like a lot of tulip bulbs really turned out to be not that many tulips!
