Outside my window
Eagle and Nest at Sunset
An eagle’s nest caught just north of here by an Ohio photographer on Flickr.

I am thinking…
about how much I got done over the past three weeks.  The week before Christmas I bought and wrapped presents, sent out the Christmas cards and did all the usual preparations, as well as my usual transcribing and even preparing to play for midnight mass.  The week between Christmas and New Years I cleaned out and organized my pantry and did a ton of laundry.  Last week I organized my classroom and did more laundry as well as cleaned out the girls’ room.  We threw out tons of garbage and gave away a lot of clothes.   I feel much lighter – but also tired!

I am thankful for…
Mr. Pete’s second job to be over – or so he tells me.  He’s been working 60 or so hours a week for months and I’m really ready for him to be home more.

From the learning rooms….
Rebooting homeschool!   Noah and Gabe are diving into Moby Dick.  Gabe did so poorly on his science that we have to do Unit 4 over again – this time with him paying attention.  Also covering the pre-Revolutionary period including the French and Indian War!

From the kitchen…
Chili twice-baked potatoes and side salad.
Shepherd’s pie
Lasagna
Oven fried chicken breasts
Tuna casserole

I am wearing…
Black workout pants with the pink side stripes- my favorite!  and  a long-sleeved, V-neck pink T shirt.

I am creating…
A schedule for Gabe that includes all of his subjects and time to practice for his drum lesson.

I am going…
to be rocking my new Karen Voight DVDs.  I just discovered her when I picked up one of her workout tapes to try at the library.  I liked it so much I ordered it through Amazon.

I bought this one but haven’t had the nerve to try it yet!

I am hoping…
to be under a certain weight by the end of January.  Here’s the thing though – I am not stepping on the scale until them.  I am just too compulsive when I start weighing myself – I mean stepping on the scale four or five times a day.  That’s leftover behavior from my old anorexic days. It’s just crazy and I feel much saner when I just don’t.  So I’m working out and starting a food journal.  My clothes fit fine, even a little loose and that’s a good indicator for me. My big public speaking roles are next month and I’d like to not look chunky for them.  I also have a major BIG wedding coming up in August.  My goddaughter is getting married and she is a dancer. Her mother is also a dancer. We met because I was a dancer.  I don’t expect to look like a dancer for the wedding, but it would be nice if people didn’t gasp when they saw me too!

I am hearing…
Nothing yet – the kids are still asleep.

Around the house…
Hoping to get started on my taxes and be a better manager of my money for 2012!

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Just to get homeschooling back on track, keep the house up and try to get four workouts in this week to meet the weight goal I have for the end of January!

    A Picture I am Sharing:
    Rosie at epiphany
Rosie found the bean in her king cake – and as the oldest at age 6 – she got to lead the little ones in procession!
(Actually Gabe found the bean but he slid it over to his sister’s plate without her noticing. She was thrilled!)
