Outside my window…
Cold and crisp – but not white! No snow at all this Christmas season – which is just fine with me!!

I am thinking…
it was nice to get to church for two masses on Christmas Eve.

I am thankful for…
Christmas present, but I am also thankful for the wonderful Christmases in my past.  The older I get and the more I do and give of myself to my family and friends, the more I am thankful for the example that was set for me by my mother and grandmother.

From the learning rooms…
We are taking another week off to clean up after the holiday, rest, and regroup for next week.  We are also working our way through the Christmas reading box.

From the kitchen…
leftovers – although if they eat their way through that during the day, then black beans and rice for dinner.

I am wearing…
gray pants, white shirt, black jacket.

I am creating…
lesson plans and craft ideas for the new year.  Izzy got a rug hooking kit and Rosie a knot quilt making quilt, so we may work on those as well.

I can honestly say that shopping for Christmas at tag sales this year was a great, great idea!  The gifts were unique and they did not cost an arm and a leg.  I bought:

• a 14-piece wrench set for Calvin.
• Three fabulous Barbie dolls – the kind that sell new for around $30 – for between $10 and $5.
• And this great vest for my niece who attends Ohio State.

Also I can honestly say that the birdseed wreath turned out pretty well – even though we made 3 of them and only one survived!

I am going…
to reorganize book cases today.

I am reading…
a whole box of Christmas books to Rosie!  One a night.  This is, after all, only the 2nd day of Christmas.

I am hoping…
that the glitter and Christmas decorations we put out at the cemetery are still there.  Hope to drive out and see.

I am hearing…
The cat trying to get my attention.

Around the house…
I am going to tackle the classroom and Mt. Everest- the Laundry.  Seems I always do a lot of laundry between Christmas and New Years.
