Spread the love

I am sick as a dog today. Truly. My head is so congested, and the medicine I’m taking to try to clear it up has me a little buzzed. It’s like a party but without any fun – if that makes any sense. But my kids have been nice to me and Mr. Pete got me a kettlebell for my birthday, so I’m excited about using that.

I got an idea from a Youtube exerciser that I found intriguing. She has about 94 different workouts in her video collection and she is going to do a different one very day and see how she does! I have about maybe 40 videos? But some of them I’ve never done and I’d be afraid to try some of them without practicing the moves first.

Noah’s clavicle is feeling better and he is moving it around a little more. Swimming lessons (that are already paid for!) start on June 20, so I’m hoping he has a lot more range of motion by then! Since it was a hairline fracture and he only has to wear a sling for a total of two weeks, he should be somewhat ready for swimming. I remember the summer I dislocated my knee cap, every time I went into the water my leg felt better – so maybe that will hold true for him too.

Sammy’s graduation ring came yesterday.  I wanted him to have one because I love my own graduation ring that my grandparents bought for me so many years ago. I was determined each of my kids will have one to remember us by.  I spent around $200 for Calvin’s ring back in 2008.  But this year a gold ring cost over $1000.  Silver was around $800.  So Sam’s ring is made of Velarium? which is a kind of steel. I told him that he will be able to tell his grandchildren that his ring was made during the Great Recession and gold and silver were too expensive.  I think it will be a very good conversation starter.

It’s also interesting that for Mr. Pete, Calvin and now Sam, their rings cleared their knuckles (barely) but then was loose on the actual flesh of their finger.  Calvin and Mr. Pete of course, can’t wear theirs any more but I just think it’s so interesting that for all three you had to size the ring to clear the knuckle only to have it loose on the hand.  But maybe Sam will pick up some weight too after high school.

That all said, I have some pictures from Battle of the Bands that I can post. Still haven’t gotten the video downloaded, but maybe tomorrow if I can actually hold my head up for a while, I’ll get that done too!
