Simple Woman

I am thinking…
about two of my good friends- one is going to be a grandmother this summer and the other will be the mother-of-the-groom! When did their children grow up!!??

I was also thinking about a conversation I had with my sister last week, about two boys who were killed in a car accident when we were in high school and how and why we still remember them.  I plan to blog about that later this week. 

I am thankful for…
some friends at church who are going to help me with my more complicated taxes this year. I pepper them with questions every time I see them, but I am so thankful to have people I know and trust who can work with me and my sister on this.

From the learning rooms…
Pretty much same as last week. We continue with The Screwtape Letters and A Philadelphia Catholic in King James’s Court with Gabe in preparation for confirmation. We move on to Iowa and Nebraska this week and review the circulatory system!  Gabe completes Chapter 5 in General Science. 

From the kitchen…
I found this seasoning packet at the grocery store for white chili!  You use chicken, beans and this seasoning packet.  So I have it in the crock pot right now and if it doesn’t stretch enough for all of us I might serve it over some whole grained rice.

I am wearing…
Black pants, black shirt with cowl neckline and a gray jacket.

I am creating…
a post in pictures about a week in our homeschool!  Stay tuned. 

I am going…
Still working on cleaning mom’s storage area!. I have 7 more boxes in my van right now. I went through 7 of them last week. There are still plenty of boxes out there. We continue to separate, donate pitch and save. If I can’t get them all out by the end of January I might move them to a smaller storage unit for a smaller monthly fee.

I am hoping…
to continue exercising.  I didn’t exercise as much as I wanted to but I did some killer DVDs and tapes  – I felt like I needed more time to recover. 

I am hearing…
Izzy and Rosie cleaning up their room – their friend Tamera is spending the night because there is no school tomorrow. 

Around the house…

We are killing time until we go to the parish mission.  For the next three nights they are having speakers on how to share the faith.  It should be interesting.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
finish cleaning my office, hit my goal for my typing and getting a lot of laundry done!
