Father Damian is finally being canonized today. He is a favorite saint in our household and I have some good links and past blog postings about him saved in my del.icio.us links. For the most up-to-date news on the canonization, see Esther’s blog at A Catholic Mom in Hawaii!

You can also follow Father Damien on Facebook!

To check out the Catholic perspective of the ongoing Health Care debate be sure to check out the Catholics Against ObamaCareCatholics Against Obamacare Blog. It is full of a lot of useful news information for Catholics concerned about this issue.

Some more from my mom’s holycard collection.

My great-grandfather’s funeral prayer card. I note that he was only 49 years old when he died of black lung disease. He was a coal minor. Father Damien was also 49 years old when he died.
