Small Successes

1. My sister and I together did the whole funeral thing. Mom had pre-planned much of her own funeral, but we still had to meet with the funeral director and with Father V, and there was a lot of e-mailing that went on back an forth to get the music organized. We also got her hairdresser to do her hair, my sister found an outfit that actually fit! and we handled calling hours and as of this writing,have gotten most of the thank you cards out. So I’m pretty proud of us!

2. We also did a funeral luncheon – something I had never arranged before. Most people have that catered I guess, but Mr. Pete and I ordered meat and cheese trays from the local grocery. My sister had some rigatoni and salad brought in. We had more than enough food and it went off very well served buffet style. Simple, light, almost picnic food. I think mom would have enjoyed it.

3. And I managed to miss not a single swimming lesson. We weren’t even late!! and today we even brought snacks for the last class. I think considering everything this was a major accomplishment.
