Spread the love

Jay from Living Catholicism sent out an email this week that he is suspending the Catholic Carnival because he’s got a lot on his plate and because they didn’t have any more hosts lined up. I totally understand, but I will really miss the carnival. I participated in it quite frequently and enjoyed reading the other posts. But I certainly understand that when life gets busy it’s hard to manage the blogging stuff.

I never hosted the carnival – I was always afraid that it would just be way too time consuming. But I certainly would consider hosting if it could be like Works for Me Wednesday, Simple Woman and other weekly forums that I participate in that use the Mr. Linky feature. Do you think something like that could work for the Catholic Carnival?

Carrie Tomko who blogged at Still Running Off at the Keyboard passed away this week. She was one of the first blogs I read when I came into the world of Catholic blogging. I knew she was in my area but we never met in person. Sometimes she gave me food for thought. For her conservative view on church though she was pro-contraception which sort of bothered me and I quit following her blog for a time. I did suggest that it would be nice for us to meet once since we live in the same town, but she declined. With that in mind, I’m wondering if they have calling hours whether it would be appropriate to go or not? (and it might even be a non-issue with my mother having her own surgery tomorrow and the rest of Holy Week). Still she will be missed.

Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord,
And let perpetual Light shine upon them.
May their souls
And the souls of all the faithful departed
Through the mercy of God
Rest in peace.
Amen.
