Spread the love

Outside my window
Still a winter sky, gray and white, but no snow and it was a balmy 40 something today!

I am thinking…
about the program we saw yesterday at church about Hellaire Belloc. He was a Catholic apologist, author and poet and was also good friends with G.K. Chesterton Much of the performance was based on the four heresies. It was a delightful performance and very thought provoking, but I couldn’t help but think about how poor my Catholic education had been and how I want to be sure to include C.S. Lewis, Chesterton and Belloc on Sam’s reading list for next year.

I am thankful for…my mother. As she struggles to feel good I keep calling to mind all of the wonderful times we have had over the years and wondering how we will cope without her.

From the learning rooms…Putting the finishing touches on CLEP test preparation for Sam which is coming up next week!   The middle schoolers and I are also going to start a book about Father Marquette.  Izzy is going to start her 3rd grade math book!  The boys and I should finishBud, Not Buddy which has been an absolutely delightful book!

We have also planted an herb garden which I am very anxious to use this summer!

From the kitchen… A pot roast, a turkey breast, chicken burritos, soup for Friday but I’m open for Thursday!

I am wearing…gray pants and the long-sleeved T-shirt that Mr. Pete got for donating blood the last time. .

I am creating…memories for my children as we get ready to recognize the season of Lent.

I am going… to really work on that exercise program this week. I hope to incorporate a walk or two if the weather gets a little better.

I am reading…
How to Win Any Argument
and
Bud, Not Buddy

How Starbucks Saved My Life: A Son of Privilege Learns to Live Like Everyone Else.  Can’t wait to review it here.

I am hoping…that I can just get through the week.  It’s “that week” and all of the problems that go with it.

I am hearing… Horton Hears a Who as the kids watch downstairs.

Around the house… we’re going to have a little St. Patrick’s Day party tomorrow. Nothing too fancy, just a little remembrance.

A few plans for the rest of the week:Keep up with my typing, work in some exercise, keep the house reasonably in order until the weekend.
