Outside my window..
A return to winter! Cold, gray and snow flakes in the sky.

I am thinking…
about the PreCana Day we participated in on Saturday. Overall we got very good reviews from the couples. This was the first time in three years that Mr. Pete and I have given the talk together and I think his presence really added to the talk.  There is a part in the talk when Mr. Pete challenges the couple to be chaste until their wedding nights.  I think that part really needs to come from a man. They need to hear it from  a man.

I am thankful for…
my parish. It’s really a fluke that we ended up here and in this parish, but as the years go by I am more and more grateful for having “landed” here.

From the learning rooms…CLEP for Sam, and a lot of emphasis on writing this week.  He finished Moby Dick last week and has to get going on Uncle Tom’s Cabin.  He also has to finish watching the Civil War Documentary.  The other kids and I are starting Minn of the Mississippi and learning about the great state of Minnesota. Also Gabe and Noah will be starting Bud, Not Buddy.

From the kitchen…Not sure yet, although I’m pretty sure we will have chicken one night, probably chili and maybe tacos.  Mr. Pete will be absent for some of the evenings and Calvin always eats at Sarah’s so I don’t have to fix as much!

I am wearing…Black pants, a brown sweater and a black jacket.

I am creating…a clean laundry room!  Made a dent in it last week though!

I am going…to battle of the bands tonight!  Six high school bands are playing and Gabe and Sam are the “crew” but they want to be performers next year!

Remembering Margo: A Triumphant Life, a Tragic Death, And Life’s Greatest Deception
I use to work with Dr. Prade and I remember her murder vividly.  I saw this book in the library and I just had to pick it up.

I am hoping…that Obama supporters are aware of what just happened last week in congress and what President Obama will be signing into law.

I am hearing…my normal low ear buzz. Cumputer humm.

Around the house…Cleaning up the classroom – again.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I’m not making plans this week. I’m just going to try to get through it!

All the members of the Pre-Cana team including all the administration, speakers, helpers, food planner, etc., bring in their wedding pictures and put it on a table for the engaged couples to see. It’s kind of fun for us to see too!  Mr. Pete and I were the only ones married in the 70s (waning months of the 1979, but the 70s nonetheless.)
