Afterall, I lived, the baby lived, we were both healthy, so what was the big deal. I remember mentioning this once to my brother-in-law who was a new health professional , and he quickly cut me off with “Let’s not go over all of that again.” and I never did. Not with him. Not with much of anyone else outside of my husband and my ICAN friends.

    So for moms who have been traumatized, and for folks who know someone who has been and are trying to figure out where they’re coming from, this is a very enlightening essay.tags: birth, childbirth
