Simple Woman

Outside my window…The city decided to send the road cleaners to clean up the roads -at 6:00 a.m. Of course this is the same city where the workers show up at 5:00 a.m. to pick up the garbage. Wonder if i should ask my city council person what my street did to deserve such early morning honors – and if we could rotate to the bottom of the list to say… oh how about an 8:00 a.m. schedule instead?

I am thinking…That I really want to make Advent a holy and peaceful time and I want my kids to be truly living the holy anticipation of Christmas.

I am thankful for… the music ministry at my church. We had lessons and carols yesterday with our SATB choir, contemporary group, children’s choir and bell choir. The music was just beautiful and I was honored to have flute solos in several of the pieces. I am really going to miss this busy musical season I have just gone through. I sort of which that I had more outlets to play now.

From the learning rooms…I have a TON of library movies for the years past the Revolution. I am moving Sam quickly up to the Civil War. Izzy is almost done with her math book! and she did finish her first chapter book.

From the kitchen… I fixed a turkey yesterday. I was in the oven during mass and Lessons and Carols. So when we got home last night we had a feast! Lots of turkey left over today.

I am wearing…Gray sweat pants, red T with a big comfy red sweater over it, and the black boots I finally wiped the dust off of!

I am creating…beautiful music. I still get to play for the Children’s mass on Christmas Eve and midnight mass. I might even play for Christmas day but I haven’t totally decided on that yet.

I am going… to be training with another transcription company this week in addition to my other accounts. I’m a little afraid to take on my work and I am afraid that this little blog will bear the brunt of my time constraints. Yet I am fearful of this economy and if I have the opportunity to make more money I’m going to make hay while a little sun still shines!

I am reading…The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness

I am hoping…that my children will have an awe and reverence for their Catholic faith and a fond memory of their Catholic upbringing.

I am hearing…my kids play in their own piano Christmas concert on Tuesday!

Around the house…Our stupid drain backed up again. Not badly, but enough that Mr. Pete will snake it out tonight just to be safe.

A few plans for the rest of the week:Buckle down with that exercise program. I have exactly six months before the big birthday! and I am determined to be in shape for it!
