Spread the love

Outside my Window
…snow is covering the ground and trees. This is unseasonably cold for this time of year. I am sure looking forward to global warming!

I am thinking
…about the new puppy we bought yesterday. She was supposed to be a Christmas puppy, but we found her yesterday so what could we do? She is 12 weeks old. She was living in a very sparse part of town. She and her sisters were surprises for the mother dog’s owner! They were hiding in a hole under the front porch when we got there. The first puppy came out very happily and was very spunky – perhaps a little too spunky. Then the second puppy came out. The third puppy, the owner had to drag out and then she peed on him. So we thought she was a little too shy! So we took the middle sister. We named her Sophie Tucker, mainly because I liked the sound of it and also because those are all sounds that are hard for Izzy to say and I think if she has to say them she will get better and better at it.

So far, little Sophie Tucker has made herself right at home!

From the learning rooms
…the younger kids and are are going to continue our study of the conquistadors and possibly make it up to the Pilgrims, but we’ll have to see. Sammy and I are studying the Jefferson Administration! The boys and are are continuing to read On the Banks of Plum Creek, the three middle schoolers and I are reading Johnny Tremain together. And this week Sam starts Rip Van Winkle!

I am thankful for…having had the opportunity to know and love so many people in my lifetime who have passed on.

From the kitchen…I’ve got a 30 pound turkey in my fridge defrosting!

I am wearing...jeans and a blue heavy sweater.

I am readingThe Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness

I am hoping… to pick up some more work with another transcription company this week.

I am hearing…Sam practicing Stairway to Heaven on the Guitar. When Pete and I started dating, that was our song. It is quite something to hear my son playing it now!

Around the house… Getting ready for Thanksgiving Day!

One of my favorite things…is the opportunity to play my flute with a good group. I have that opportunity the next two weekends. Then I play a concert at church on the 14th, and then all three Christmas masses. I love playing beautiful music!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…Potty training Rosie and Sophie. I wonder which one will catch on first? I’m betting on Sophie!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you... remember that link I had on here a week or so ago about how to make roses from maple leaves?  Well this is the result!  My daughter Izzy made the roses and the little basket they’re in!
