Simple Woman

Outside my Window…It is fall, and the freakish tree finally dropped her leaves!

I am thinking… the unthinkable happened. The most liberal senator in the congress was elected president of the United States, and right away he is going to end domestic oil drilling and allow funds for stem cell research and abortion via executive order. There’s the change everyone wanted! Are you starting to taste the cyanide in the Kool Aid yet?

From the learning rooms…Sam and I are going to study the Revolutionary War. Sam and I are moving on to the post Revolutionary period. The other kids and I are reading Johnny Tremain as a group, and then starting On The Banks of Plum Creek for our reading lessons.

I am thankful for…having had the opportunity to know and love so many people in my lifetime who have passed.

From the kitchen…Chicken and dumplings with a salad.

I am wearing…black pants and a white sweater.

I am hoping… to get Sam started on Moby-Dick

I am hearing…someone up in the dining room, but I can’t figure out who?

Around the house…clean  up the classroom!

One of my favorite things…I dunno.  I don’t think I have a favorite thing this week.  I guess the troubles of the economy with the election last week has sort of sapped my energy. 

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week….  Everyone gets through reading and math EVERY DAY, and start a study of Florida!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…  This is Rosie and a little soccer friend she made this fall.  The girls played and ate snacks while their siblings played soccer.
