Outside my Window…same ole, same ole. Now under my kitchen window I have a nice crop of sunflowers that Izzy and her friend planted in the spring. They are very big, getting heavy with seed, and have just thrilled the girls to no end that something they planted actually grew!

I am thinking…about how hard it is going to be to jump back in to homeschooling full steam. I always worry about this until I actually start though.

I am thankful …for good friends. We had a meeting last night of the parent advisory board for our homeschool youth group. We had good food and good discussion. It was friendly even when not everyone saw eye to eye.

From the kitchen…I think hamburgers on the grill are going to be in order today – with fresh tomatoes.

I am creating…a stronger body! I did some extra walking over the weekend and my hips are hurting. I’m one of those people that will wait until the bones are actually grinding in the socket before I ever do anything about it though. I use to work for an orthopedic surgeon back in the day.

I am going…type and do laundry and order some more homeschool supplies! I did order one of the subscriptions from Bravewriter, and I ordered Sam’s religion book and we have started his American Literature.

I am wearing…Blue denim shorts and a nice white T-shirt that I am in love with. It is so comfortable and I got it at Gabriel brothers. I think I am going to go back and get some more when I get paid.

I am reading…the The Ultimate Guide to Homeschooling (3rd Edition) It’s one of the most encouraging books I also finished a book about Sharon Tate and the Manson murders last week. I have some blogging I want to do on that topic later.

I am hoping…to have a fulfilling homeschool preparation week and blog about it here. I also hope to finish up my homeschool blog, One Day at a Time, in preparation for our review. AND I am bringing my homeschool calendar up to date with all of the kid’s activities.

I am hearing… the girls laugh and giggle in their room.

Around the house…still working on that basement! This will be a summer project!

One of my favorite things…watching Gabe and Sam and their group of teenage friends here int he neighborhood. We have quite an eclectic group! There is one young lady named Cassie with curly hair and big brown eyes. I think all of the boys are a little smitten with her. Then there is Sam and Gabe and two African American boys Aaron and J. Tyler. These last few weeks of summer they have been traveling and doing everything together, movies, mall, sleepovers (Cassie doesn’t get to stay for those!) Saturday night we watched a Netflix with them and the rest of my family. It was nice to be able to do that. Are these the beginning of lifelong friendships? Maybe.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing for you
