"Elena of My Domestic Church get’s my nomination for living a life of loveliness that I could only ever dream of. She’s an awesome wife and mother, a deeply committed Catholic, a proponent of pro-life issues, a hands on make-and-bake-and-cut-and-stick-musical-momma, a prayerful, compassionate, thoughtful and passionate woman who endeavours to live a christocentric life in her own euphonious way. Yes, I am proud to know her as a blog buddy and sharing in her trials and her triumphs via reading her blog over the last few years has impacted me more than she could know… and always for the better." It was a beautiful night and one I will remember forever. Thanks to you and Kelly for clearing up any confusion there may be about what the Church believes, teaches, and proclaims. Have a blessed Easter season!" From a VTC reader. 05/2010

Elena…I’m going to ask you this nicely. Please refrain from commenting on my blog. At all. You don’t come to my blog out of any real interest, only to berate me for supporting Candy or to jump on a comment I left on her blog.
Look sweetie…It’s clear to me that you’re a devoted and devout catholic. Fine. Swell. Neat-o. But do you honestly think these tactics speak well for you or for your efforts to make others see what you believe is true? It should then be plain to YOU that Candy is a devoted Christian who plain does not believe in Roman catholicism. Don’t hold out any hope of converting her, Elena. Or me. I am just as firm in my beliefs. Just quit it already.
If you disagree so wholeheartedly with Candy and others like her…DON’T VISIT HER BLOG. I assume you have other more worthy pursuits. Don’t drive yourself mad visiting her blog and wasting your time commenting. Of course she’ll not print any more of your comments so you still feel the need to hunt down other commentors. Sad.
Why don’t you take my suggestion and make your own dear blog a haven for lovliness and your own truth? If others truly seek your truth they’ll seek you out or others like you.
Elena…as a fellow human being, I am commanded by Christ to love you. I have not spoken any hateful words to you nor will I. But leave me alone. Any further contact you try to have with me on my blog or in my email will only further serve to make me see you as totally pathetic.
I didn’t berate you Shannon. You left a comment, and I merely followed your link and left a friendly comment. If I remember correctly I also wished you a nice spring. That is not berating. If you don’t want visitors don’t link to your blog or make your blog private.
But do you honestly think these tactics speak well for you or for your efforts to make others see what you believe is true?
Sure. I was friendly, I was polite. Good manners always speak well of a person don’t you agree?
It should then be plain to YOU that Candy is a devoted Christian who plain does not believe in Roman catholicism.
I get that. And I have no problem with it. What I have a problem with is the inaccuracies and the lies she perpetrates about the Catholic Faith even when she has been presented time and time again with evidence about what Catholics actually believe and what the church actually teaches. She can be whatever she wants, but if she is going to present falsehoods, I’m going to speak up about it.
Don’t hold out any hope of converting her, Elena. Or me. I am just as firm in my beliefs. Just quit it already.
Hey, I’m not out to convert either of you. But if you’re going to talk about Catholicism, don’t you think you should at least get your facts straight? I’ll never become an Evangelical either, but I will at least try to get my facts straight before I make any public pronouncements about Evangelicism on my blog.
If you disagree so wholeheartedly with Candy and others like her…DON’T VISIT HER BLOG.
No can do Shannon. She claims to have a significant following and she persists in blogging her misinformation. As long as she does that, I will be making the correct information available via the search engines for folks who really are looking for that information.
I assume you have other more worthy pursuits. Don’t drive yourself mad visiting her blog and wasting your time commenting.
Oh… don’t sell yourself short Shannon. You’r worth it! 😉
I’m perfectly content with the status quo of my VTC blog and I RARELY even attempt to comment on Candy’s. I think I even reach a larger audience via the search engines, at least judging by our stats.
Of course she’ll not print any more of your comments so you still feel the need to hunt down other commentors. Sad.
She probably won’t. I find your attitude odd though Shannon. Most serious bloggers WANT visitors. You seem to relish repelling them. It just seems odd to me to have a public blog and then chastise people for…uh… visiting!
Why don’t you take my suggestion and make your own dear blog a haven for lovliness and your own truth?
Well see, that’s what THIS blog is for. Visits to Candyland is my apologetics blog!
If others truly seek your truth they’ll seek you out or others like you.
Yep. And with a little help from keywords and search engines, I have found that to be true! ; )
Elena…as a fellow human being, I am commanded by Christ to love you. I have not spoken any hateful words to you nor will I.
Oh sure you have Shannon. Your comment on Candy’s blog was very condescending to the tune of “those poor lost Catholics who must hate yo because they know the truth in their hearts but just can’t get out of the chains of Rome.” Puhlease.
But leave me alone. Any further contact you try to have with me on my blog or in my email will only further serve to make me see you as totally pathetic.
I’ll risk it.
Seriously Shannon, I couldn’t remember your name and didn’t know your blog until I had already clicked. Take your link off of Halo scan if it bothers you so much. You have comment moderation on so such hit delete and quit being such a baby about it. That’s what having a blog is all about.
Cheers,
E.
Awesome Elena! You’r ethe BEST!
Wow…that was asking ‘nicely”?
