High School Hours Record Keeping

Spread the love

According to my research, 150 hours is considered one high school credit. I was astonished to find then that the expensive homeschool record keeping soft wear that I purchased last fall had no easy way of keeping track of the actual hours per day per subject! I did find a way to do it but it was NOT easy and NOT cumulative, meaning I had to continue to do the actual adding every week or month of the total time.

There has to be a better way that wasn’t going to cost me an arm or a leg. So I made up my own sheet on Excel and a work sheet on Word. Those are two programs on my computer that I already paid for! Sam keeps track of his hours all week, and then I put them on the Excel spread sheet at the end of the week. Simple!

You can check out what I’ve done in the files below under Sam’s High School.

I am partially submitting this to the Homeschool Carnival because I hope that if some of the high school parents are doing this better, they will let me know!

  1. Hi Elena,

When I read about your difficulty tracking the hours for High School credits, I took a look at your Excel file. I designed a workbook that will do all the calculations based on Sam’s logging of hours. (that is, you don’t have to enter a thing – it will be based on his entry of his time log) If you’d like to take a look, you can email me from the link on my blog: http://www.heavenonearth217.blogspot.com
