I got almost everything I wanted to get done done yesterday…

Spread the love

and it almost killed me! I did math, reading, spelling and phonics done with all three kids. We even had time for literature and science. I made dinner. I worked out twice!! for 30-45 minutes each. I transcribed all the work that had to be done for the day and the house looks reasonably clean! I even blogged a bit.

By 10:00 I was spent! Sound asleep by 10:15 and didn’t wake up until 7:30 after almost nine hours of sleep.

I set some definite goals this week that I want to accomplish in my homeschool and I also have some fitness goals I want to achieve. The thing is, to accomplish any of this means I have to become obsessive. I’ve done obsessive. I’ve trying to avoid obsessing because obsessing isn’t always good for me. I’m wondering if I can find a way to be totally focused without being obsessed! That will be the trick for me and I think it’s a fine line to cross. I’ll report back how I’m doing by the end of the week.

Physically though I feel pretty good. I RAN YESTERDAY! My sister inspired me. She is running up to three miles on a treadmill. Of course my kids are running cross country and Calvin runs a lot at swimming. I have this fantasy of us participating as a team in next year’s Akron Marathon, but of course that would mean I would have to actually become a runner! I didn’t do too badly. I don’t think I made it quite a mile without stopping. My goal is going to be to work up to that at the park within the next week.

In the evening though I did one of my Firm tapes. I made the mistake of hoping Mr. Pete would watch the kids while I worked out. But Izzy wanted to work out with me and so I let her stand behind me. (I have an extra fanny lifter that the kids have almost destroyed, but it still sort of works. I also have an extra sculpting stick which one of the kids broke too. I let Izzy work with the damaged goods).

Izzy and I were doing our thing when Rosie came down and saw us. She immediately got out the little potty chair and started using that as her fanny lifter step! When she saw we had our sculpting sticks she got one of my weights and started using that. So… funny and cute!!! but not at all conducive to a good workout because I was afraid she was going to get konked on the head while I was moving around, which she did! But I’m glad both of the girls enjoy trying to exercise with me. When I was little my sister and I did the same thing to my mom when she was watching Jack LaLanne! I’m going to try to enjoy this time when they think I’m still young, beautiful and smart because it won’t be long before they realize I’m not!

Have a great Tuesday!

  1. That’s so funny! My daughter is actually the reason I work out almost every day now. I started doing a workout tape after her breakfast for a while, and now she wakes up, gets dressed, and says, “Do Mommy’s workout, please!” Too funny, and amazingly helpful.
