Spread the love

A few weeks ago I gave Mr. Pete a shopping list for taco seasoning and he came back with crock pot meat loaf spices! When I asked him why he said it was because he couldn’t read my handwriting and he surmised that because hamburger was on the list (it wasn’t, ground turkey was) that I was planning a meatloaf!

Has this ever happened to you? My once lovely handwriting is now a chicken scratch as I try to jot down items on a list quickly while chasing a toddler, or keeping a sixth grader on task while answering the phone! It happens.

A few weeks ago I found and downloaded this fun little grocery list software. It’s called Make A List, the Shopper’s Helper. It was only $12 via Paypal. It helps you to make your grocery list and then you PRINT IT OUT!

Never again will Mr. Pete have to wonder if I meant tuna or turnips! He can check it out on the nicely printed, 12 font Times Roman, shopping list. It also categorizes the groceries so that Mr. Pete doesn’t have to go all over the store looking for items. All the items are categorized for easier shopping.

You can also save lists to use over again. I LOVE that part too. Why recreate the wheel? Now there are still some kinks to work out on this software. I think the amounts need to be refined further and for now if I want Mr. Pete to buy more than one pound of something for example, I put it down that many times. For example if I want three pounds of hamburger, I put hamburger, hamburger, hamburger on the list and he knows that’s three pounds. But other than that, I am enjoying the soft ware!

Oh… some of you may wonder why Mr. Pete is going to the grocery store. It is because he is a maniacal, almost anal retentive, compulsive, get-the-best-possible-price-on-anything-even-if-I-have-to-
shop-at-three-stores type of shopper, and I’m the get-in and get-out kind. It works out better if we do not grocery shop together! I can also say that for our family of eight he keeps the groceries down to about $150 a week or less, so he gets the job!

That works for me too!!
