Sam the loyal younger brother also attended Calvin’s party – we needed the extra masculine presence! A cute part of the party for me was when I asked how many were seniors this year. All of the girls but one raised their hand. This girl said somewhat shyly that she was “only a junior.”

I replied, “Well, that’s okay, Sam is a freshman.”

To which all of the young ladies said very sweetly and in unison, “Awwwww…”

Sam turned several shades of pink.

On the upside when the party broke up and the kids headed over to the river front festival, Sam was invited to go along!
