NICU families get space for rest.

There is a wonderful article in our paper today about the local children’s hospital growing to accomodate families who want to stay at the bedside of their critically ill or dying children. This expansion will give parents a place to stay in the hospital to be near their children.

Frequent readers of this blog will know that I am a big supporter of perinatal hospice, and I think this option at our local hospital is a good step towards implementing that service in our area.

The lovely lady in the picture is my friend Maria. We have supported each other through pregnancies, pregnancy losses, and just general family and friendship things over the past ten years or so. Her newest baby is a real little fighter, and they expect him to be home with his family before the end of summer!
